 Electric Water Pump

Any opinions on using electric water pumps in 944Cup? Maybe as a PREPARED upgrade?

"Digitally controlled electric water pump….Set the target temperature and it adjusts the rate of flow, hunting for and then locking onto, the temperature you set. The 'Digital' Electronic Controller will automatically continue running even with the Ignition OFF after a hot engine shut down, eliminating heat soak. The on-board diagnostic capabilities will analyze and report the state of your cooling system."

Some what of a good idea, but you need the water pump as a guide pulley for the cam belt. so really you still have the orginal water on the engine. plus if you got rid of the orginal water pump, you need to fab up a housing to channel the water as does the orginal pump. A temp gauge tells you whats going on with the cooling system anyways. You, the driver can diagnose the problem.

 Re: (ernie 91)

Leave the water pump housing...just remove the impeller.
